PENSION CREDIT & WINTER FUEL PAYMENT

The Chancellor announced last month that the Winter Fuel Payment would only be available to those receiving Pension Credit or another means-tested benefit.

You should try and get your Pension Credit claim in quickly, as the qualifying week in 2024 for Winter Fuel Payments is from 16 to 22 September.

If you don't manage to claim before the qualifying week, the DWP can backdate your claim. The last date for making a backdated claim (3 months) for Pension Credit is 21 December.
